Greetings! I am a working mom, residing in Texas with my family. I was raised in Chennai, India, where I completed a Master’s degree in Engineering. Currently, I work as a Program Manager in an IT corporate. Since I was young, I have been intrigued by the human mind, its learning processes, and the impact of education on shaping one’s thoughts. Unfortunately, I was unable to pursue a career or further education in psychology or learning sciences due to different limitations.
My journey into the world of autism began in 2016, igniting a deep curiosity about how the human brain functions, both typically and in neurodivergent individuals. This passion led me to pursue and earn an MA in Special Education with a focus on Autism and Applied Behavior Analysis from Ball State University in 2023. However, with a 15-year career in technology, making a sudden transition into psychology and research has been challenging. This blog is my way of staying closely connected to autism research, exploring the latest findings and breakthroughs, and sharing valuable insights with the community.
The autistic mind processes information differently from a typical mind, and it’s crucial for the world to understand how the autistic brain works to unlock its hidden potential. Thanks to the neuroplasticity of the human brain, I believe that individuals with autism can acquire any skill when the right teaching methods and technologies are applied.
In our data-driven world, artificial intelligence (AI) is making significant strides in autism research, diagnosis, interventions, therapies, and daily living. AI can reduce costs and effort, providing personalized and evidence-based resources to a vast population. Join me as I explore how technology is transforming special education and enhancing the lives of individuals with autism.
Regards,
Priya
